Do you have any idea how beautiful and talented you are? It's hard enough to take good shots, but to be in the pictures as well. Well, that's just amazing.

f-stop 1.8 really makes it easier to be this bright :D

oh is that so? :O_o: the f-stop changes the darkness/brightness as well? *still clueless after learning about aperture and all that in class :D* i guess i'll have to try that out for myself sometime ;) *got no time right now.. -_-"*

I used f/1.8 because I wanted the background to be blurred but like xcriminalxmindx said it also makes it brighter. I'm not used to using the camera outside so I was surprised myself when I had to use 1/4000, I guess it's because I took this midday with the sun shining bright to the side of me.

i see what you mean by the blur :) its very effective i think. and brings attention to the subject (you ;)) *learns something new every day :D*

but hmm.. if the sun is shining bright. i wouldn't think that it have to be set that low.. :O_o: oh well. guess i'll have to go try it out for myself *got to do a fashion shoot for an assignment with no model.. :/*

oh yeah. try experiment more outside ;)

I think you've got yourself a little confused. I'm pretty sure that 1/4000 shutter speed is very fast, not slow.

A shutter speed of 4000 means that the shutter will be open for 1/4000th of a second. Now compare that to a slower shutter speed of lets say 125 where the shutter will be open for 1/125th of a second.

Think of it as fractions.
1 divided by 4000 = 0.00025
1 divided by 125 = 0.008

0.00025 is a much lower number than 0.008 which means 0.00025 of a second is less time than 0.008 of a second therefore the shutter speed for 1/4000 is very fast compared to 1/125.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

oh sorry. yeah i did :P (always confusing myself with that  cus the speeds can go to the opposite end of the spectrum with numbers like 0"5 >>;)

obviously. somebody knows their stuff :P all that maths goes over my head.. ^^; took me a while. but i think i understand now ;)

thanks for taking the time to explain that :D learning from the masters :worship:
